The Fort Bragg Food Bank was thrilled to receive a 2005 Isuzu truck generously donated by Harvest Market. The truck is in excellent condition with low mileage and will serve the Food Bank and the community for many years to come. Replacing the Food Bank’s last remaining old worn-out vehicle, it will be used daily to pick up donated food from local stores, including Harvest Market, as well as to deliver food to small remote food pantries county-wide.
Harvest Market has been an outstanding benefactor of the Food Bank for many years, helping out in a myriad of ways. In 2012 they donated 50 tons of food, including lots of fruits and vegetables and other fresh items, a welcome addition to the foods offered available for Food Bank clients. Each November, for several years, Harvest Market has hosted the Buy-a-Turkey-for-the-Food-Bank campaign at their store which provides holiday turkeys for people in need. They also help the Food Bank make wholesale food purchases, provide food for fundraising events and host food donation barrels at both their Fort Bragg and Mendocino stores.
THANK YOU, TOM HONER, TIM AND JENNIFER BOSMA!

PENNIES ON THE POUND
An efficient food delivery system
In 2012 we distributed 1,100,000 pounds of food (yep, that’s over a million pounds). When we look at the cost/benefit ratio we found that:
For every $1 we spent – we distributed $5.75 worth of food.
